HPV is a virus you may not know much about - but you should. It is a common virus that affects both men and women. At least 50% of sexually active men and women will get HPV infection in their lifetime.
Some types are relatively harmless—like the ones that cause common warts on hands and feet. Some types of HPV can affect the female genital area which can lead to, , and other HPV-related diseases (such as and ) and in males, , anal and penile cancers.
